
My name is Meret Haack, I earned a bachelor‘s in Spanish and Cultural Studies at the University of Bremen and completed my master‘s in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. After that, I worked at the Goethe-Institute Munich and in science management at the LMU. In 2024 I joined the research group “Planetary Healing – Transformation, (De)Colonization and Climate Change „led by Professor Eveline Dürr, funded by the German Research Foundation as a doctoral candidate. My research interests include Environmental Anthropology, environmental activism and governance in Latin America and Blue Humanities.
In my dissertation project I explore processes of negotiation and uses of the sea and the coast in the Chiloé archipelago in Southern Chile.
